Charles Spurgeon
As I remarked before, if our Saviour might have paused from intercessory prayer, it was surely when they fastened him to the tree; when they were guilty of direct acts of deadly violence to his divine person, he might then have ceased to present petitions on their behalf. But sin cannot tie the tongue of our interceding Friend! Oh, what comfort is here! You have sinned, believer, you have grieved his Spirit, but you have not stopped that potent tongue which pleads for you.

"The time of business does not with me differ from the time of prayer, and in the noise and clatter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for different things, I possess God in as great tranquillity as if I were upon my knees at the blessed sacrament."

Pray with eyes on Christ and not on the crisis.
Because when you pray with eyes on Christ and not on the crisis — your prayers are always answered: He edifies, He embraces, He is enough.
What would it be like to live like that — all the moments a prayer with eyes of the heart all on Christ?

And real prayer isn’t about changing God’s mind but about finding God’s heart — and letting His heart change my mind.

“I know of no better thermometer to your spiritual temperature than this: the measure of the intensity of your prayer”

The highest form of prayer is to the goodness of God.... God only desires that our soul cling to him with all of its strength, in particular, that it clings to his goodness. For of all the things our minds can think about God, it is thinking upon his goodness that pleases him most and brings the most profit to our soul.
